THE HIGHLAND WOMAN – MEMBERSHIP POLICY
Last Updated: July 2026
OUR PURPOSE
The Highland Woman is a private membership club created exclusively for women who value meaningful connection, friendship, wellbeing, leadership, learning, business, culture and shared experiences.
Our purpose is to cultivate a trusted community where women feel welcome, respected and supported, while preserving the integrity, privacy and intended experience of the Club for current and future members.
As a private membership organisation, The Highland Woman manages its membership in accordance with its purpose, governance framework and applicable Australian laws.
Membership is a privilege, not an entitlement, and every membership decision is made with regard to the long-term wellbeing of the Club and its members.
WHO CAN APPLY
Women who align with the purpose, values and community standards of The Highland Woman are welcome to apply for membership.
Membership is by application and approval only.
Meeting the application requirements does not guarantee membership.
THE MEMBERSHIP PROCESS
Step 1 – Complete the Application
Prospective members are invited to complete the online Membership Application Form and provide the information requested.
Applicants should ensure that all information supplied is accurate and complete.
Step 2 – Member Nominations
To preserve the trusted nature of our community, applicants are generally required to be nominated by two current members of The Highland Woman who are in good standing.
A nomination is an expression of confidence that the applicant understands the purpose of the Club and will contribute positively to the community.
Step 3 – Interview (Where Required)
We recognise that many women discover The Highland Woman before knowing existing members.
Where an applicant is unable to obtain two member nominations, The Highland Woman may, at its discretion, invite the applicant to participate in a conversation or interview with the Founder or an authorised representative.
The purpose of this conversation is simply to introduce the Club, answer questions and ensure the applicant understands the values and purpose of the community.
Step 4 – Application Review
Applications are carefully reviewed having regard to:
- the purpose of the Club
- alignment with the Club’s values
- the integrity of the community
- the intended member experience
- member nominations, where applicable
- any additional information requested during the application process
Applicants will generally receive notification of the outcome of their application within 48 hours, although additional time may occasionally be required where further information is needed.
Step 5 – Membership Approval
Applicants whose membership is approved will receive:
- confirmation of their membership approval
- a Welcome Email
- a secure link to purchase either a Monthly Membership or an Annual Membership
- instructions for activating their membership
- information about accessing member benefits and upcoming events
Membership becomes active once payment has been successfully processed.
Step 6 – Welcome to The Highland Woman
Once membership has been activated, members will receive access to the Member Hub together with the benefits included within their chosen membership.
Members are encouraged to complete their profile, connect with fellow members and begin participating in Club events, conversations and experiences.
MEMBERSHIP DECISIONS
As a private membership club, The Highland Woman reserves the right to approve, decline, defer or decline to renew any application or membership.
Membership decisions are made with regard to:
- the purpose of the Club
- the integrity of the community
- the safety, wellbeing and privacy of members
- maintaining a respectful and trusted member experience
- the governance framework of The Highland Woman
- applicable Australian laws
Membership decisions are final.
The Highland Woman is not required to provide reasons for membership decisions.
MEMBERSHIP OPTIONS
Memberships are offered on either:
- Monthly Membership
- Annual Membership
Membership fees, inclusions and benefits are published on The Highland Woman website and may be updated from time to time.
MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL
Memberships will renew automatically in accordance with the selected subscription unless cancelled before the renewal date.
Members are responsible for ensuring that their payment details remain current.
Where payment cannot be processed, membership benefits may be suspended until payment has been received.
CANCELLATION BY MEMBERS
Members may cancel the renewal of their membership at any time in accordance with the membership terms applicable to their subscription.
Cancellation prevents future renewals but does not normally result in a refund of membership fees already paid, except where required under Australian Consumer Law.
SUSPENSION OR TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP
The Highland Woman reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership where it reasonably considers such action necessary to:
- uphold the purpose of the Club
- protect the safety, privacy or wellbeing of members
- maintain the integrity and reputation of the community
- enforce the Club’s policies
- comply with applicable Australian laws
Where appropriate, The Highland Woman may first seek to resolve concerns through discussion with the member.
In circumstances involving serious misconduct or where immediate action is considered necessary to protect members or the Club, membership may be suspended or terminated without prior notice.
MEMBER EXPECTATIONS
By accepting membership, members agree to:
- uphold the purpose and values of The Highland Woman
- comply with the Terms & Conditions, Community Standards and other Club policies
- treat fellow members, guests, speakers and staff with courtesy and respect

- respect the privacy and confidentiality of fellow members
