OUR COMMITMENT

The Highland Woman is more than a membership. It is a trusted community built on meaningful connection, mutual respect and a shared desire to see women thrive.

Every member contributes to the culture of our Club. Together, we create an environment where women feel welcomed, valued, respected and supported.

These Community Standards exist to help preserve the integrity, trust and purpose of The Highland Woman for every member.

By participating in the Club, members agree to uphold these standards in all interactions, whether online, in person or through any activity associated with The Highland Woman.

OUR VALUES

As members of The Highland Woman, we strive to:

  • build genuine friendships
  • encourage one another
  • celebrate each other’s achievements
  • support women through life’s transitions
  • contribute positively to our community
  • communicate with kindness and respect
  • value different perspectives and experiences
  • create a welcoming and trusted environment

RESPECT FOR ONE ANOTHER

Members are expected to treat fellow members, guests, speakers, volunteers, Brand Partners and team members with courtesy, dignity and respect at all times.

Healthy discussion and differing opinions are welcome.

Personal attacks, hostility, intimidation or behaviour that undermines the wellbeing of others is not.

PRIVACY & CONFIDENTIALITY

Trust is one of the foundations of The Highland Woman.

Members may choose to share personal experiences, challenges or achievements within the community.

Unless permission has been given, these conversations should remain private.

Members agree not to share, copy or distribute confidential information, personal stories, photographs or member details without the consent of those involved.

Respecting privacy helps preserve the trust that makes our community unique.

INCLUSIVE AND RESPECTFUL PARTICIPATION

The Highland Woman is committed to fostering a respectful environment where every member is treated with dignity.

Members are expected to communicate thoughtfully, listen respectfully and contribute in ways that strengthen the community.

Harassment, bullying, intimidation, discrimination, threatening behaviour, abusive language or conduct that creates an unsafe or hostile environment will not be tolerated.

MEMBER CONDUCT

Members are expected to:

  • act honestly and with integrity
  • communicate respectfully
  • support a positive community culture
  • respect personal boundaries
  • take responsibility for their own behaviour
  • contribute constructively to conversations and events
  • treat Club property, venues and facilities with care

Members are encouraged to resolve disagreements respectfully and privately wherever possible.

COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION

The Highland Woman exists to foster meaningful connection.

Members are encouraged to:

  • attend events
  • participate in discussions
  • welcome new members
  • contribute ideas and experiences
  • build genuine relationships
  • support the growth of the community

Every member contributes to the experience of others.

COMMERCIAL ACTIVITY

The primary purpose of The Highland Woman is connection and community.

Members must not use the Club primarily to promote businesses, products or services, solicit clients or engage in unsolicited sales activity.

Promotion of businesses or services is only permitted where approved by The Highland Woman or through an approved Brand Partner arrangement.

Members are encouraged to build authentic relationships before engaging in business opportunities.

EVENTS

Members and guests attending Club events are expected to contribute to a welcoming, respectful and enjoyable environment.

Members should:

  • behave respectfully towards all attendees
  • follow any venue requirements or event instructions
  • drink responsibly where alcohol is served
  • respect the privacy of other attendees
  • contribute positively to the experience of the event

The Highland Woman reserves the right to ask any person to leave an event where their behaviour is inconsistent with these Community Standards or adversely affects the safety, comfort or enjoyment of others.

SOCIAL MEDIA

Members are encouraged to celebrate and share their experiences with The Highland Woman.

However, members should always respect the privacy of others.

Photographs, videos, conversations or personal stories involving other members should not be shared publicly without their consent.

Members should avoid publishing content that may damage the reputation of another member or The Highland Woman.

MEMBER DIRECTORY

Where member profiles or directories are provided, they exist to encourage genuine connection and relationship building.

Member information must not be copied, harvested or used for unsolicited marketing or commercial purposes.

REPORTING CONCERNS

If a member experiences behaviour that they believe is inconsistent with these Community Standards, they are encouraged to contact The Highland Woman privately.

All concerns will be considered respectfully and, where appropriate, handled confidentially.

The Highland Woman will determine the appropriate response having regard to the circumstances and the wellbeing of those involved.

BREACHES OF THESE STANDARDS

To preserve the integrity of the Club, The Highland Woman reserves the right to take any action it reasonably considers appropriate where these Community Standards are not upheld.

This may include:

  • providing guidance or a reminder of the Community Standards
  • requesting that certain behaviour cease
  • restricting participation in particular activities or events
  • suspending membership
  • terminating membership

Any action taken will have regard to:

  • the purpose of the Club
  • the safety and wellbeing of members
  • the privacy and comfort of members
  • the integrity and reputation of the community
  • applicable Australian laws

OUR SHARED RESPONSIBILITY

The Highland Woman belongs to every woman who chooses to be part of it.

Together, we create the culture, friendships and experiences that make this community special.

By supporting one another with kindness, integrity and respect, we help ensure that The Highland Woman remains a trusted place where women can genuinely connect, grow and belong.
